The Wellness Effect
I founded The Wellness Effect with the goal of increasing health literacy and health advocacy skills in youth as they create their own community health campaigns.
In November 2024, we were awarded a mini-grant of $750 by the University of
Maryland’s Do Good Institute. This grant is used to provide campaign materials
to participants.

Our Mission
To empower students to lead community health campaigns, increasing confidence in health literacy and advocacy skills while improving community health behaviors.
Our Partner School
We are partnered with College
Park Academy, a public
charter school. Participants are
part of CPA Plus, a before and
after school enrichment
program. We have 15 participants, all students grades 6-8 in CPA Plus.
